What is Game Protocol?

The Game Protocol is a decentralized ecosystem for video games based on blockchain technology. Its ecosystem is primarily focused on GameStarter- a fundraising platform for video games in development. In GameStarter, developers can create and sell their own crypto-based in-game currency based on Game Protocol Token. This is done via the use of smart contracts that allow the easy creation of tokens. With the use of the Bancor liquidity pool, Players can easily exchange between in-game currencies. Other benefits include a decentralized game store, where fans can play games that have been funded & developed and developer’s tools, so games can be developed with ease.

How does a game developer get their project funded?

Developers will have their projects posted on Gamestarter. From that point, it will be a joint effort by Game Protocol and the developer to market the project to as many potential investors as possible.

How are we going to ensure quality projects are on our platform?

We will conduct a KYC procedure to all developers who would like to take part in our platform. Developers must also post their history and other games and projects they have developed on the platform. This will guarantee quality projects on the Game Protocol platform and will provide backers with all the background information they need to make an informed decision on whether to invest in projects that are posted.

How does Game Protocol differ from other crypto gaming ventures?

Game Protocol has started as a game development studio, GamyTech. Our unique origin has given us a unique perspective on the problems within the world of video games.Most other crypto-gaming projects focus on tokenized items on the blockchain or focus on eSports.
Game Protocol is the first and only crowd-based fundraiser for video games based on blockchain technology. We have a strong use case and solid roadmap that will assist our project’s future development.

How can I buy/sell Game Exchange Token?

Game Protocol Token or GXT can be purchased via any credit/debit card and/or exchanged from other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum via Bancor and exchanges that will be listed in the future. This will allow easy purchase and sale of GXT once the platform is live.
During our token sale, purchase of GXT will only be allowed via Bitcoin & Ethereum. Buyers will receive their GXT immediately after transfer.

How can I buy/sell game-specific currencies?

Purchase of Game-Specific Currencies (GSCs) will be as easy as any microtransaction. Players can choose to use credit/debit cards or exchange cryptocurrencies to GXT.The player can then trade the GXT to any GSC of their choice.

What’s the difference between Game Exchange Token and game-specific tokens?

Game Protocol Token acts as an index of the entire gaming ecosystem. In other words, owning GXT is like having a bit of each of the game-specific tokens when evaluating value.
However, game-specific tokens are currency specific to a certain game.
They can be used to make in-game purchases for that game. They can also easily be exchanged to GXT.

How are backers rewarded with Game Protocol?

Once Game Protocol Token is purchased, a backer could see profits when the platform gains popularity. The supply of GXT will always remain the same, but as the platform becomes more popular, the demand for the tokens will increase, thus leading to an increase in price per GXT.Backers can also invest in game-specific tokens if they believe a certain game will gain popularity. Through the same law of supply and demand, they could turn a profit once the game grows in popularity.

Why should developers choose Game Protocol over other existing platforms (Indiegogo, Steam, etc.)

One of the main problems game developers face is a lack of sufficient funding. In addition, popular crowdfunding websites block many countries from submitting projects. Many sites also take incredibly large royalty fees making it very difficult for game developers to see much profits within the first year if at all.

Why does Game Protocol need blockchain technology?

We at Game Protocol were looking for the most appropriate way to reward backers. Without the use of cryptocurrencies, the only way to reward backers for video game projects monetarily would be via the use of dividends. This would be much more complicated and messy than the use of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. By using blockchain technology everything is 100% secure & transparent.

How does Game Protocol help developers?

Game Protocol provides developers from around the globe an even opportunity to raise funds for their video games. There are no region locks and very low fees, therefore making Game Protocol a very attractive opportunity for many developers.

How does Game Protocol plan on dealing with Ethereum’s congestion problem?

We recommend that developers working with Game Protocol use both on-chain and off-chain solutions to tackle Ethereum’s congestion problems. By using both servers and blockchain, developers can create games with the speed of servers and the security & transparency of blockchain technology. We also believe that the Ethereum network will improve in speed in the future.

Why are we using ERC20?

We are using the Ethereum ERC20 standard token as a base for Game Protocol & GXT as it is the most suitable standard for our token. We have also established a strategic partnership with Bancor which will allow easy exchange of GXT to all other ERC20 tokens in their liquidity pool & vice versa.

How does Game Protocol plan on dealing with GSC conversion fees?

Game Protocol will not take any conversion fees. Our liquidity pool for video games will be modeled off the Bancor liquidity pool. This will guarantee minimal or no fees for transactions.
